If you take the 1b run home, join the blue 2c to the left, go past Bar Olympia and keep going down into Zermatt, you will eventually end up or maybe even ski up to the pub. Jayne, I have tried a few hire shops in Zermatt past 2 seasons and I would now really recommend Flexrent. The reason being that they will store your kit overnight and move it between lift stations if you tell them where you will be skiing the next day, this is all free of charge! They also have new, very well maintained kit with a good choice. And they were good about changing skis through the week, my husband tried 3 pairs! Its great because as you will find out Zermatt is a big resort and there is a lot of walking to be done! So anything that means you dont have to carry your kit about is a big improvement. They have 2 shops one just opposite the Sunnega Express base station and the other at the bottom of the Matterhorn Express base station this one is also called Dorsaz sport. If you are staying at the Admiral you are almost right across from the Sunnega base station and so the Flexrent shop will be almost next door. They are open 8 am til 7pm, ask for Matthias young chap at the Sunnega shop and very helpful. Pretty sure they we got discount for SCGB too. If you plan any lessons book in advance, can get very booked up. If you need to know anything else post again, restaurant tel nos, directions, suggestions for where to ski etc etc.. As Beverley said you will love it, we had 8 days last year and went back for 12 this! And when we were in Cervinia at New Year we skied 4 days in Zermatt!!
